OK all - here are the pics from the 3rd leg of our trip - San Luis Obisop to Monterey. I can still smell the ocean (a good thing) and feel the sun and breeze on my face. We had a great time in SLO and were able to hook up with Karla's mom (long time Cali friend). Also, Bubble Gum Alley -- eeewh! Had a great time at the hostel there - no really I did. The day in Monterey was amazing. We had a blast on Cannery Row and at the Aquarium. Had some very expensive Fish 'n Chips on the warf, and met the man of my dreams! Be sure to stop and see the aquarium if you ever go that way -you won't want to miss it. Check out the video - it's anchovies. They shine like silver when the sun hits them - they swim in large schools and move like a single creature. It was extremely cool! By the way - Miss is in Cape Cod, Massachusetts tonight.

ReplyDeleteBrings back tons of memories -- I do so miss the ocean -- Monterey is a fav of mine! When I was there the 'row' was a fishy smelling street of fish canneries and a red light district. The wharf was quite ordinary, but I loved it, and the Pizza we bought there was cheese on the dough with sauce on the side to dip into. The aquarium was only an idea in 1954 when I graduated and I've only seen it once. I know it has been expanded since. This part of your trip was fun for me too! hugs, Mom
