Amber Alerts

Hey all -
On the way to work this morning I heard an ad on the radio. The ad was for https://www.wirelessamberalerts.org. You can go to that site and sign up for free Amber alerts. You can pick up to 5 zip codes to receive alerts for (you won't receive all the national alerts) and will receive them as a text message on your cell phone. There is no charge, it is a free service. Anyhow, I signed up LaBretta's phone and my work cell phone. Might seem like kind of a small deal, but any way to keep kids a little safer in a world that is growing increasingly unsafe. Anyhow, thought you all might be interested.

Traveler's Log (star date 9-10-08)

Dear All - this is the final posting of my trip with Miss. She of course has much more to share after dropping me off and will have to update you herself. From Monterey, we went to Benecia and stayed with Russ -- the perfect host. We spent a super relaxing day at the city park laying in the sun (which I'm missing about now) reading, writing and napping. He took us to the Farmer's Market and a fantastic Thai restaurant - yum! From Russ' place we drove to Bandon, Oregon where we stayed at a beach house for the final 5 days of the trip. Found amazing tide pools at minus low tide one evening. Miss drove me to the airport the next morning and from there headed to Mt. Rainer, Washington. Honestly, I didn't know if I'd survive, but it has definately been the highlight of my 47th year. Hope you've all enjoyed to journey as much as I did.
PS - Miss is staying w/friends in North Carolina.
