updates

Hi all,

'Don't know if everyone is aware of Sean's news these days, but he is well and sends his love to all. He is currently serving in Vilnius, Lithuania as a trainer and is loving his time there. He is coming up on 'Hump Day', October 17th and says that this first year has really flown by.

Also, some of you keep calling me to try to reach Nate. He lives with Grampa and Gramma Woodland. So if you want to reach him, call him there -- or use his cell number to text him.

Over the river and through the woods...

We took several days and traveled to Glacier National Park over Labor Day weekend. Sorry we weren't there for parade day but it was worth it. It was phenomenal, fabulous, breathtaking, and a blast...and pictures just don't do it justice but here are a few...

Day 1 - Heading to Salmon and on to Missoula for the night.

Day 2 - On to Glacier National Park. Take the Road To The Sun to Logan Pass.

We're going where???

Now I know why they call it "Road To The Sun".

After a cold, long, late night ride and much needed help from Amanda, we finally found the last room in Missoula at 11pm because there wasn't a single vacancy in Kalispell. Who knew...Labor Day weekend and we were living on the edge w/o reservations.

Day 3 - Over Lolo Pass on the Lochsa River. Beautiful, cold, and wet and oh, did I mention...COLD.

Follow the Salmon River heading to Riggins...

From Riggins we went to McCall for the night and a hot meal at The Mill. Excellent Prime Rib!!!

Day 4 - From McCall we rode through Stanley, passing the Sawtooth Mts, into Ketchum, Craters of the Moon, and home. There weren't many pics that turned out on Day 4. I must have been getting tired. Ya think? Home sweet home after 1500 milles, but ahhh...memories :)

Hey all - it's been a busy summer. There's been lots of painting and some demolition. 2 of the 3 wooden graneries on the Rich Place are coming down. All that's left of the one is the floor joists and foundation. We are going to tear into the other one this coming weekend (anyone who wants to join in is invited). I thought you all might like to see what mom does in her spare time (with help from Nate B.). She's quite the budding artist.
Hope summer has treated you all right. Love you all heaps.

for the long holiday weekend

To the artists featured here:
I hope you don't mind me sharing your artwork with the rest of your family. The love expressed
will be seen by everyone.
The artists should recognize their work....I hope they do. I always have room for more and will add them to my treasure chest.
Many years have passed since they were drawn, so I hope that anybody recognizing your work will tell you it is yours. I'm so lucky to have these sent to me from each of you. Thanks again.

Many of you might recognize this one displayed in my kitchen.
