Traveler's Update (star date 9-6-08)

OK all - here are the pics from the 3rd leg of our trip - San Luis Obisop to Monterey. I can still smell the ocean (a good thing) and feel the sun and breeze on my face. We had a great time in SLO and were able to hook up with Karla's mom (long time Cali friend). Also, Bubble Gum Alley -- eeewh! Had a great time at the hostel there - no really I did. The day in Monterey was amazing. We had a blast on Cannery Row and at the Aquarium. Had some very expensive Fish 'n Chips on the warf, and met the man of my dreams! Be sure to stop and see the aquarium if you ever go that way -you won't want to miss it. Check out the video - it's anchovies. They shine like silver when the sun hits them - they swim in large schools and move like a single creature. It was extremely cool! By the way - Miss is in Cape Cod, Massachusetts tonight.

Lewis and Clark's very distant relative checks in

Miss recently left the Adirondack Mtns (upper state New York) and is now camping near Rutland, Vermont. She's planning to go a little further north (perhaps Burlington?), but not much, as the nights are getting very cold. Also, many of the campgrounds are closing for the year and so those options are becoming somewhat limited. She'll hit the eastern border of New Hampshire and then head south to warmer weather. She is in good spirits and reports beautiful scenery.

Hey all.......just a note to bring you up to date....sorry i still can't figure out how to post those pictures!

We are well, everyone is healthy so far and we are all so blessed. We got our first 'bit' of snow on October 5th and 6th....if you can call it a 'bit'...LOL...closer to a foot actually, but it's pretty much gone now. Sean is at ISU and learning all about life on his own, is a ward missionary, assistant to the ward mission leader, assistant wrestling coach at Malad Middle school, student (in his spare time)...Nate is still in Bornholm, loving the people and doing a lot of teaching. Denmark is a tough mission, please remember him in your prayers. We located his flat on Google Earth, now THAT is a a fun thing to do...you can actually see the trees and streets and everything! Mike is still hunting deer and working hard before winter hits, I'm winding up the year getting ready for the last quarter and getting excited for the holidays. Lani and her kids were here this week, they are growning up so fast. Makenna is 9 now and so tall! Whitney has lost her two front teeth and is waiting patiently, and Easton is learning to read! Jared just bought a semi so that he could pull his heavy trailers legally...Ü...and their concrete business is one of the busiest ones in the area. We got to go to Preston while she was here and see Jer and Lisa for a little bit and their bunch. Brock is walking and talking (when he's inclined Ü) and Kaden is taking piano lessons, also waiting for his 2 front teeth. Libby is so grown up and quite a little princess, she's taken a break from cutting her hair i think...for a while it was pretty often! Both Lisa and Jer are very busy with their businesses of building custom cabinets and making people beautiful, but looking forward to a break for their cruise after Thanksgiving...Happy 10 year Anniversay!

I know we never say it often enough, but we all love you all and pray that you are safe and healthy in your corners of the world. Personally I am so thankful to have a great family who supports each other even though we don't talk to each other all that often. It is felt, at least by me, i hope you all feel it too. Take care of you....

xoxo....Char

Miss is now in Michigan with her Dad and says it feels good to have landed for a bit. Watch for more exciting stuff to come! Char - it works great to pick "none" then you can drag and drop where you want. Love ya - Jan.
