Nate leaves today!

Hi
Everybody!

We just heard from Nate! He called from the SL Airport and sends love to everyone. He will fly from SLC to DC then on to Austria and from there to Denmark arriving sometime early Wednesday morning. He sounds so awesome! He said he's excited to be "moving". Apparently, he has spent nearly 12 hours each day in a classroom ~~ I'm sure that is an exaggeration, but he can't wait to get on his feet or a bike and move! I know he is looking forward to the food too! His address at the mission home in Kobenhaven is:

Elder Nathan Wade Barnard

Denmark Copenhagen Mission

Borups Alle 128, 1 Tv

DK - 2000 Fredriksberg

DENMARK

When he gets an address at his flat, I will post it here as well.

Love to all....keep cozy and warm during these last few days of chilly weather!

Love you much, Char

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Everybody....sorry so late on the updates.....it IS February after all! We have had so-o-o-o-o-o-o much snow! We are at 100% and over in all the reservoirs around here ~~ good feeling to know that. Everyone is doing great....as Mom said, nate is good. He is teaching Danish as a District Leader and loving that. He will fly out in about 2 weeks and is getting very anxious. Sean is wrestling today at Districts. He's been under the weather, but will probably do fine. even though he loves it, he's looking forward to the end. He's applied to college and is waiting anxiously to hear back. It might work out that he will try to get a year in before his mission as he has to wait until at least June 2009 to turn 19. Whatever he decides will be good.

Mike is good and we are keeping busy...too busy sometimes, but that's life. It's good to hear that everyone is getting on well. I'm so bad at calling you all, but I so appreciate calls from Russ and Jan to catch up. I miss seeing everybody. It gets tougher as we get older and are pulled so many directions. Maybe we can have a party soon.....huh?

Snuggle up and stay warm...I'm baking today, Nate says he needs cookies! What a shocker!

We love you guys and hope to hear some little blurb from you all soon!

Hugs and smooches, Char
Hello Sweet Family!

I haven't written anything for a long time; just enjoying everyone else's input so much.
Congratulations to Melissa -- we're very proud of you and thought of you on that important day -- wishing we were sharing it with you in the rotunda!
Thanks Char and Jan for the photos -- .

What is everyone else doing? Let' see, maybe I can spread a little (news?).
Charlene is 'commuting' between Boise and home these days being a Mom and Granma, while Mike and Sean hold down the fort in AF. Sean is doing good with his present sport -- wrestling. Nate is anxiously engaged in preparations to take off for Denmark very soon from the MTC. Jer and Lisa are spending a lot of time shoveling snow and helping stranded motorists. Jared and Lani are sunning themselves and cruisin'. Eric and Kat are working and looking for wild geese in their spare time.
Calvin is working HARD and appreciates everyone fasting . . . Greg is in Anchorage again, working with Cal and Doug.
Russell is cruising the Bay Area regularly and hopefully dropping in to see Delia real often.
Jan is keeping us informed for the most part of her busy life via this blog. Wes and Missy are doing great in their 'worlds'.
Tammy and Steve are loving their job as Grandparents and she is serving with me to chair the committee for the Stake Relief Society Anniversary Commemoration . . . at least we get to see each other occasionally! Alex is (I think) enjoying school, and Elliott is too from what he tells me. Megan was here at Christmas and cute as ever! Amanda and her Steve are trying hard to keep up with Buerklie! She gave them a little scare and was quite sick a few weeks ago, but is ok now.
Dianne is really busy with her new calling; Thayne will be home before we know it; Austin is playing basketball, I think, and Hayden is milking cows. Marty went to a Cowboy Poetry convention in Nevada and read some of his writings there! Abigail is Dianne's right hand and Ethan is Abi's -- I think they try to be really good help for their Mom and Dad. Gale calls every so often and he is busy working and sometimes gets to enjoy his snow machine too. Wes and Suzi are working hard and playing occasionally (Wes has discovered the phenomenal fun that snow can be). Stetson was in Nevada with Courtney last I heard as she had a temporary assignment there. Maggie and Josh are enjoying their cute little Sadie. Jessie is home fairly often but is avoiding travel for a few weeks after hitting a deer on the Interstate a few days ago. Scary. But noone was hurt. Madeleine is growing up -- way too fast for me. She doesn't come to stay after school as often as she used to. And we miss her.
Ryan and LaBretta are working hard too and everyone in that family has a birthday this month except Noah and his Mom. The kids have discovered a great snow slide to play on -- over on the Corbett ditch bank! Kaylee, Noah, Payton and Corinne ALL love it!
Dad and I are doing well and we haven't had any serious illness or falls even with all the ice and snow. We are truly blessed. Well that is 'it' in a nutshell.

Tomorrow -- or maybe it's today (because it is 2:09 AM) -- is Valentine's Day! Remember all day --every day-- that we love each one of you!

Love, Dad and Mom
