More help with gas prices!

Hey did you know that buying a little more expensive (and higher octane) gas will get you better mileage? I have a friend that tested the 'theory'...and i was really surprised. He said that he spent a little more per gallon and actually saved money in the long run because the mileage that he made up more than paid for the more expensive gas. Chevron is better gas (higher octane and has techron in it) than Flying J and Maverick. It's tempting to buy cheap gas, but in the end you aren't really saving yourself any money. Just a thought....oh, and yea....buy American!!

Hey

Hi everybody - Just thought I'd throw out some pics and give a quick update on this branch of the fam. The kids are staying busy as always for the summer which keeps Bretta busy following them around and getting them places. Noah's baseball team took 1st place in their league and 1st place in the tourney - he was pretty stoked about that. Kaylee's softball team got off to kind of a rocky start but now have 3 consecutive wins under their belt - thats always a big boost. Payton decided to sit out this season - that is until he saw Noah's games - but he'll be ready for next year. He says this year he is just practicing. But you know, that kid doesn't have any trouble staying busy. Corinne is just her sweet little self. She's got the old man wrapped around her finger. This year we swung a deal to take the majority of the cows out to the desert west of Blackfoot (not too far from the Buttes). It worked good because it allowed us to stop feeding almost a month earlier than usual and stay off the grass near the house, leaving it until fall/winter. So, that has worked out pretty good so far, we will be bringing them home in about 2 weeks or so. If anybody has a good idea how to trail them from Moreland to the house let me know. I think some people might fuss if we take them through town. Kip Mickelson is still renting the farm ground from Dad and things look really good (so far plenty of water this year). Their is a new seeding of hay by mom and dad's and the rich place was planted to winter wheat. Good water + lots of warm weather = lots of things growing. Love you all take care - give us a holler or stop by when you can. Swing in and we'll make some ice cream and dutch oven taters. You know, years ago Charlene got the family newsletter up and going and I know that everybody loved getting and reading those. She has now got this blog running and it is a great way for everybody to keep everybody updated on whats going on. So, come on - it doesn't take but a minute or two to post a little something. Lets here how everybody is doing - Mom, hows the family history calling? Dad has a new yellow toy that is, apparently afraid of water - who knew? Cal how is business in AL? Char - whats new with the missionary, the soon-to-be-college boy, the contractor, & busy mom? Russ - whats new in CA - are the fires close - smokey? Jan - hows the missionary & world traveler? Tam - hows the new kitchen and helping Amanda get settled in? Dianne - hows Thayne (not too long till we see him I think??), got a baptism coming up I think, let us all know how the parade goes. Gale - how was the sledding this winter? I know my kids sure had a good time when you came down - they were convinced that your sled should also be able to work in the sand and that you need to bring it this summer also. Wes - hows the shop coming? You know it is funny, I run into people all the time that when I introduce myself they usually ask about one of you. I guess I will never not be Wes's little brother. Sall'right - I can live with that title. Megan, Amanda, Jer (happy B'day on the 30thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - you know what I'm talkin about), Lani, Missy, Jesse, Alex - - whats shakin?? Again and as always - love you all heaps. Have a good 4th of July!! As tough as things seem to be getting I think we should all remember how fortunate we are to live here

Payton & Corinne out in the yard / dandelion patch

Noah & Grotey - that is the east butte in the background with the radio towers on it. Noah loves to go out to the desert to check cows with the old man aka me.

Corinne & Grotey - when Santa brought this horse to the kids at Christmas they named him Brody, but Corinne kept calling him Grotey and it kind of stuck. It fits him though cause with his winter coat he looked pretty trashy, but he sure slicked off nice this spring.

Here is Kaylee with some of the girls in our ward (I'll bet a lot of you know some of their parents - left to right: don't know her name (I think Dan Acevedo's girl), Merrin Brower (Scott & Jenice), Kaylee Woodland (got a good mom but the dad is kind of sketchy), Noelle Hatch (Todd & Brenda [Goodwin?]), Emma StJohn (Jim & Debra [Elison]), I don't know the last 4 girls.
